Now that our concert is over, many students and parents ask - what do I do with my rental instrument? Well, there are two answers to that question.
For students continuing in band or orchestra next year
Keep it! There are two reasons you'll want to continue your instrument rental over the summer. First, you should keep playing! If you stop now and try to start again fresh in August, you'll forget so much of what you've learned this year and will have to start over. Second, as you pay the rental fees, you are earning credit towards purchasing your own instrument. If you return the instrument and re-rent next year, you loose all your credit!
For students not continuing next year
It is okay to return instruments at this time. You must bring it to the music store where it was rented from, not to Mr. Hebert. If you did the rental at an event at school, then you would return to Music & Arts off of Sheridan and 88th. The store has to inspect the instrument and cancel your contract, otherwise you may continue to receive rental charges.
If you have any questions, please let Mr. Hebert know. We hope to see everyone in 6th grade Concert Band or Concert Orchestra next year! Have a wonderful summer and don't forget to practice!
